What I did't tell you, Mary, is that I had my steel toe-capped wellies surgically removed yesterday, which could account for the loss!!

Now then girls ... FOCUS ... FOCUS ... this is the Weightwatchers thread LOL

Well done everyone who lost this week. If you didn't - well, you know why and you just pick yourself up and kick your own butt and start again Huh

I lost half a pound. Not much, but if I lost half a pound a week for a year, it would be 26 lbs - that's nearly 2 stones. So ... slowly, slowly, catchee monkey ... or lose the weighty ThumpUp

I bought the WW recipe book 'Just for one'. I have tried lots of recipes. I'm really enjoying trying different things. I normally cook a recipe for 4 and freeze 3 portions, but if you don't like it much, that's a lot of 'not very nice' dinners you have to eatSad

So vary your meals. Don't have the same breakfasts every day and try something a little bit different. I find I lose more weight if I put more effort into making my meals. It's mostly salads at the moment, but I keep looking for different ideas. I saw in one book: grate a raw carrot, soak sultanas in orange juice and when plump, mix them in with the carrot. It was delicious. The orange enhances the carrot and the sultanas add a bit of sweetness to the salad.

Keet it up you losers ThumpUp

Cor blimey - well done Jean and Sophie. Think of it in packets of lard. Half a pound = 1 pkt lard ... ughhh Scared

Mel - if you don't lose one week, you often have a good loss the next week, so hang in there and stick at it. No loss is ok, it's just putting it on that's not Blink

Keep it up you losers ! LOL

Hi all

well done for the loses, great job, I have finally decided to join the losers and am pleased to say I have recently lost 5lb. I have been very good and haven't had any sweeties, biscuits etc.

I am drinking as much water as I can and am feeling refreshed and hungry!!!...I just pray I can keep it up

Well I've joined the 'stayed the same' club this week! But am not downhearted as this has happened a lot and I usually manage a decent weight loss the next week Smile

Well done Ellie - wow - 5lbs - that is brilliant.

Drinking water - my WW leader says that if you feel hungry, it is often because you are thirsty and to have a good drink of water before you eat anything. Very often this does the trick and the feel for the need to eat goes off. I have tried it and it worked for me. We should be drinking 8 glasses of water per day. That can only be good for those of us with 'Arthur' as it flushes the meds through the body.

Anyone got any other tips to tell us ?

Ann

Hi Ann,

thats what I have been doing...drinking water before I eat and it helps, I have also been having vegetable soup it fills you up and its quite low in fat. My other thing when I peckish is to have low fat yogurt.

Ive replaced the naughtys with fruit ie bananas and strawberrys I thought that maybe they would be better than chocs and the stawberrys seem to deal with my sweet cravings.

I like cream caramel which is low in fat but does anyone about the calories in these?

Hi Ann,

As regards drinking water, I've read that ice cold water is even better, it uses up more calories.
